Good to know

Rifugio Locatelli opens roughly 27 June – 27 September; the Auronzo road opens in late May with mandatory booking. For the sunset, stay overnight at the hut.

The face is not a perfect plane and the light is very grazing: a few degrees of orientation or a low cloud to the west can bring the alpenglow forward, delay it or kill it.
